The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 15 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week as of Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The top five districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding 0.33 per 100,000 population per week are Karimun, Tarakan City, Jembrana, Klaten, and Palangkaraya City, with rates of 0.41, 0.37, 0.35, 0.34, and 0.33 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
National Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. One district/city recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously, while one district/city recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Karimun, Tarakan City, and Jembrana, with rates of 0.41, 0.37, and 0.35 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
