Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Confirmed Positive Cases Nationally (Tuesday, October 18, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 169 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.24 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 12.6 per 100,000 population/week are Kupang City, Magelang City, Belu, Mimika, and Bekasi, with respective values of 20.01 per 100,000 population/week, 16.4 per 100,000 population/week, 15.23 per 100,000 population/week, 13.98 per 100,000 population/week, and 12.6 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. An increase in daily confirmed positive cases compared to previous days was recorded in 95 districts/cities, while 70 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.

Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Kupang City, Belu, and Mimika, with confirmed positive cases of 20.01 per 100,000 population/week, 15.23 per 100,000 population/week, and 13.98 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
