The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 19 regencies/cities with weekly tracing rates above the national average, currently recorded at 0.39 percent as of Thursday, March 23, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with tracing rates exceeding 15 percent are Surabaya City, West Jakarta City, East Jakarta City, Sidoarjo, and Garut, with values of 31 percent, 20.67 percent, 18.67 percent, 16 percent, and 15 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that tracing in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Zero regencies/cities recorded higher daily tracing rates than before, and three regencies/cities recorded lower tracing rates.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest tracing rates include Balikpapan City, Tarakan City, and Mahakam Ulu Regency, with tracing rates of 15 percent, 1 percent, and 0 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
