The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 114 districts/cities with a weekly Covid-19 positive confirmation rate above the national average, currently recorded at 4.33 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, August 18, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with rates exceeding 51.87 per 100,000 population/week are Tangerang, East Jakarta, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and Kepulauan Seribu, each with a rate of 51.87 per 100,000 population/week.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in positive confirmations in most districts/cities outside Java. Thirty-eight districts/cities recorded higher daily positive confirmations than before, while 95 districts/cities recorded lower positive confirmations.
Areas outside Java with the highest positive confirmation rates include Bontang, Palangkaraya, and Jayapura, with positive confirmation rates of 46.37, 45.98, and 29.7 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
