Residents of West Nias Regency spend Rp0.99 per capita per week on chayote.

In West Nias Regency in 2023, per capita weekly expenditure on sweet potatoes was Rp0.99. This is lower than the previous year's expenditure of Rp3.27 per capita per week.

The five largest components of vegetable expenditure in West Nias Regency, ranked from highest to lowest, were: red chilies Rp1,525.96 per capita per week; garlic Rp1,518.91 per capita per week; cassava leaves Rp1,043.76 per capita per week; chili peppers Rp577.6 per capita per week; and the lowest was spent on sour vegetable/lodeh (package) at Rp0.73 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be categorized into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food expenditure is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. Based on region, the highest per capita expenditure on sweet potatoes was in Yalimo Regency and the lowest in West Nias Regency. West Nias Regency ranked 514th in sweet potato expenditure. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure on sweet potatoes is Rp257.5 per capita per week.
