According to a Populix survey, 71% of respondents said they usually buy food and drinks for breaking their fast near their homes or offices.

Next, 39% of respondents said they buy food and drinks for iftar at Ramadan bazaars. Then, 34% of respondents said they usually buy from friends, neighbors, or relatives who sell iftar meals.

Only 23% of respondents said they buy food and drinks for iftar through online applications. And 2% of respondents bought iftar food and drinks elsewhere.

This survey also shows that the majority of Indonesians usually buy kolak (sweet dessert soup) and gorengan (fried snacks) for their iftar meals. Meanwhile, the types of drinks usually bought for iftar are various fruit juices and cendol (a type of iced dessert).

This survey was conducted on 1,492 respondents aged 18-55 years in Indonesia. The survey was conducted from March 1-9, 2022.
