The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 65 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.03 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.61 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Tomohon City, Samosir Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency, Central Mamuju Regency, and West Sumbawa Regency, with respective rates of 0.91, 0.79, 0.76, 0.71, and 0.61 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data compiled by the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. Two regencies/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while 10 regencies/cities recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Tomohon City, Samosir Regency, and Sangihe Islands Regency, with respective rates of 0.91, 0.79, and 0.76 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
