The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 58 districts/cities with a COVID-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Thursday, October 13, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest number of COVID-19 deaths, exceeding 0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Natuna (3.68 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tomohon City (0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Bangka (0.88 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Kepulauan (0.84 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Banda Aceh City (0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in COVID-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Four districts/cities recorded higher daily COVID-19 death tolls than previously, while five districts/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest COVID-19 death rates include Natuna (3.68 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tomohon City (0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Bangka (0.88 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
