KAI Adds 49 Long-Distance Train Journeys During the Long Holiday: Here's the Detail

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, will operate 49 additional train services during the long Easter weekend from March 29-31, 2024.

This brings the total number of long-distance train services during this period to 924, up from the previous 875.

KAI VP of Public Relations, Joni Martinus, stated that the increase in train frequency is to anticipate a surge in passenger volume during the long weekend at the end of March 2024.

"The increase in the number of train services is part of KAI's commitment to improving customer service, especially during peak seasons like this long weekend," Joni said in a press release on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

The following is a list of the 49 additional long-distance train services by route:

1. Additional Sembrani train services: Gambir-Surabaya Pasar Turi round trip: 6 services
2. Additional Taksaka train services: Gambir-Yogyakarta round trip: 5 services
3. Additional Lodaya train services: Bandung-Solo Balapan round trip: 5 services
4. Additional Argo Cheribon train services: Gambir-Cirebon round trip: 4 services
5. Additional Manahan train services: Gambir-Solo Balapan round trip: 4 services
6. Additional Gajayana train services: Gambir-Malang round trip: 3 services
7. Additional Ciremai train services: Bandung-Semarang Tawang Bank Jateng round trip: 3 services
8. Additional Brantas train services: Pasar Senen-Blitar round trip: 3 services
9. Additional Kertajaya train services: Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasar Turi round trip: 3 services
10. Additional Kutojaya Utara train services: Pasar Senen-Kutoarjo round trip: 3 services
11. Additional Mutiara Timur train services: Surabaya Pasar Turi-Ketapang round trip: 2 services
12. Additional Argo Merbabu train services: Gambir-Semarang Tawang Bank Jateng round trip: 2 services
13. Additional Purwojaya train services: Gambir-Cilacap round trip: 2 services
14. Additional Malioboro Ekspres train services: Purwokerto-Malang round trip: 2 services
15. Additional Pasundan train services: Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng round trip: 2 services

A total of 274,769 tickets have been sold for the period of March 28-31, 2024, representing 45% of the total tickets available, which is 606,432.

Joni explained that popular routes during this Easter long weekend include Jakarta-Surabaya round trip, Jakarta-Solo round trip, Yogyakarta-Banyuwangi round trip, Bandung-Blitar round trip, and Surabaya-Banyuwangi round trip.

"In providing train transportation, especially during long weekends, KAI ensures that it will transport passengers safely and free from road congestion," said Joni.
