East Lombok Residents' Average Years of Schooling Still Below National Average

The average years of schooling (AYS) for residents aged 25 and over in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, reached 7.12 years in 2023.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the AYS in this region is below the average for West Nusa Tenggara Province, which reached 7.74 years in 2023.

The AYS for East Lombok residents increased by 0.08 years (1.14%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.04 years. Meanwhile, over the past five years, the AYS has increased by 0.67 years (10.39%).

This AYS indicates that the average resident of East Lombok only attends school up to the seventh grade. However, this AYS is still below the national average of 8.77 years in 2023.

Compared to the other nine regencies/cities in West Nusa Tenggara Province, East Lombok's AYS ranks seventh. The region with the highest AYS in the province is Bima City (10.95 years), while the lowest is North Lombok Regency (6.39 years).
