The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 99 regencies/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 5.12 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Friday, August 12, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 64.55 per 100,000 population/week are Bogor, Tangerang, Depok City, Central Jakarta City, and West Jakarta City, each with 64.55 per 100,000 population/week.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Sixty-six regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 71 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Bontang City, Palangkaraya City, and Banjarmasin City, with confirmed positive cases of 58.23, 48.35, and 40.44 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
