The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 70 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.01 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 60.47 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Tangerang, and North Jakarta, with values of 105.92, 82.85, 62.39, 61.53, and 60.47 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 46 regencies/cities recorded a higher number of daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 32 regencies/cities recorded lower numbers.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Badung, Denpasar, and Gianyar, with confirmed positive cases of 34.76, 20.64, and 13.45 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
