Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest Number of Covid-19 Agglomeration-Related Deaths Nationwide (Friday, February 3, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 35 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week (data as of Friday, February 3, 2023).

The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19, exceeding 0.26 per 100,000 population per week, are Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Malaka (0.49 per 100,000 population per week), Purworejo (0.28 per 100,000 population per week), Lombok Barat (0.27 per 100,000 population per week), and Pinrang (0.26 per 100,000 population per week).

A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Zero regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 than previously, while two regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.

Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 include Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Malaka (0.49 per 100,000 population per week), and Lombok Barat (0.27 per 100,000 population per week).

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
