The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 150 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 0.45 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Wednesday, January 18, 2023).

Twenty-six districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 31 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Tana Tidung, Tambrauw, and Talaud Islands, with confirmed positive cases of 6.21, 6.06, and 5.3 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
