The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 22 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, as of Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.17 per 100,000 population per week, are Central Jakarta, Tanah Laut, Ambon City, Pasaman Barat, and Kubu Raya, with respective rates of 0.44, 0.28, 0.21, 0.21, and 0.17 per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. One district/city recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than previously seen.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Tanah Laut, Ambon City, and Pasaman Barat, with rates of 0.28, 0.21, and 0.21 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
