Entering the second year of the pandemic, public opinion on social restrictions has begun to shift. A survey by Indikator shows that 67.9% of respondents believe the pandemic is under control and want to return to normal life.
This public perception arises because a large majority of the population has received the Covid-19 vaccine, suggesting that a return to normal life should be possible.
Meanwhile, only 27.7% of respondents believe the pandemic is not over and that social restrictions should be reimposed if necessary.
The perception that the pandemic is under control and that people want to return to normal life was found in almost all survey areas. Bali-Nusa Tenggara had the highest percentage, with 80.2% holding this view.
Only in Maluku-Papua did 30.2% of respondents believe the pandemic is under control and that life can return to normal. This result is due to 53.7% of respondents in Maluku-Papua stating they did not know or did not answer.
The Indikator survey involved 1,200 respondents as a sample, with a margin of error of around 2.9% at a 95% confidence level. The survey was conducted from February 11-21, 2022.
