The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 167 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 2.49 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, October 20, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 13.47 per 100,000 population/week are Balikpapan City, Kupang City, Belu Regency, Magelang City, and South Jakarta City, with values of 16.41, 16.39, 15.67, 14.76, and 13.47 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
The national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. 118 districts/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 44 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive cases include Balikpapan City, Kupang City, and Belu Regency, with confirmed positive cases of 16.41, 16.39, and 15.67 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
