The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 18 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
The five districts/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.2 per 100,000 population per week, are Magelang City, Malaka, West Lombok, Malang City, and Agam, with respective rates of 0.82, 0.49, 0.27, 0.23, and 0.2 per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. One district/city recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously, while one district/city recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Malaka, West Lombok, and Agam, with rates of 0.49, 0.27, and 0.2 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
