The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) notes that 279 regencies/cities have elderly vaccination coverage based on KTP (Indonesian ID card) identity above the national average, currently recorded at 59.56 percent as of Thursday, October 13, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with elderly vaccination rates exceeding 108.96 percent are Solok City, Garut, Aceh Singkil, Cirebon, and Sukabumi, with respective values of 123.31 percent, 119.99 percent, 115.52 percent, 112.83 percent, and 108.96 percent.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in elderly vaccination in most regencies/cities outside Java. A higher than previous daily elderly vaccination rate was recorded in 163 regencies/cities, while one regency/city recorded a lower elderly vaccination rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest elderly vaccination rates include Solok City, Aceh Singkil, and Tebing Tinggi City, with elderly vaccination rates of 123.31 percent, 115.52 percent, and 108.93 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
