Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest COVID-19 Hospital Bed Occupancy Rate (Friday, August 19, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 144 districts/cities with Bed Occupancy Rates (BOR) above the national average, currently recorded at 4.08 percent as of Friday, August 19, 2022.

The top five districts/cities with the highest COVID-19 BOR, exceeding 34.98 percent, are Tanah Bumbu, Tasikmalaya, Luwu Utara, Manggarai Timur, and Karangasem, with values of 57.14 percent, 50 percent, 44.36 percent, 37.5 percent, and 34.98 percent respectively.

A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the BOR of most districts/cities outside Java. 71 districts/cities recorded a higher daily BOR than before, while 67 districts/cities recorded a lower BOR.

Areas outside Java with the highest BOR include Tanah Bumbu, Luwu Utara, and Manggarai Timur, with BORs of 57.14 percent, 44.36 percent, and 37.5 percent respectively.

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
