The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 129 districts/cities with a weekly agglomeration of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 0.31 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, March 23, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 3.55 per 100,000 population/week are Morowali, South Jakarta, Kepulauan Seribu, South Tangerang, and Bekasi, each with 3.89, 3.55, 3.55, 3.55, and 3.55 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. An increase in daily confirmed positive cases compared to previous days was recorded in 18 districts/cities, while 15 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Morowali, South Bangka, and Central Mamberamo, with confirmed positive cases of 3.89, 1.86, and 1.78 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
