Indonesia's Active Covid-19 Cases Drop to 16th in Asia

Active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continue to decline. According to Worldometers, the total number of active cases of people infected with the coronavirus in Indonesia was recorded at 27,747 on Friday, October 8, 2021.

This number places Indonesia's active Covid-19 cases at 16th in Asia, just below Cyprus, which has 27,957 active cases of people infected with the coronavirus. Meanwhile, Turkey remains the country with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases in Asia, reaching 476,426. Iran is in second place with 382,072 cases.

Following Iran is India with 246,668 active cases. Next, active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia and the Philippines are 129,049 and 115,328 respectively. Thailand has 110,113 active Covid-19 cases. Meanwhile, Iraq has 60,923 cases of people infected with the coronavirus.

The number of active Covid-19 cases needs to be continuously suppressed. This can be done, among other things, by diligently implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.

In addition, the public is urged to participate in Covid-19 vaccination. Vaccination is effective in reducing the risk of death from the virus.
