The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 22 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.23 per 100,000 population per week, are Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Bombana (0.52 per 100,000 population per week), Jembrana (0.35 per 100,000 population per week), Bangka (0.29 per 100,000 population per week), and Malang City (0.23 per 100,000 population per week).
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. One regency/city recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than previously.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Kutai Barat (0.66 per 100,000 population per week), Bombana (0.52 per 100,000 population per week), and Jembrana (0.35 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
