Domestic Covid-19 cases continue to improve amidst the rise of the Omicron variant. Reports from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force show an increasing number of Covid-19-free regions.
Indonesia recorded no red or orange zones between December 27, 2021, and January 2, 2022. This means Indonesia has been free of regions with high and moderate Covid-19 transmission risk for over two months and three weeks.
Specifically, Indonesia has been free of red zones for 16 weeks. Meanwhile, it has been free of orange zones since October 18, 2021.
As of December 27, 2021 – January 2, 2022, 408 districts/cities were categorized as yellow zones. This number remained unchanged from the previous week.
Meanwhile, the number of districts/cities in the green zone is increasing. 106 districts/cities are in the green zone due to having no new coronavirus infections. However, no districts/cities are categorized as green zones with no Covid-19 impact.
The government urges the public to remain vigilant against Covid-19 transmission, especially with the increasing number of Omicron variant cases domestically.
Therefore, preventing the spread of Covid-19 is crucial. This can be done by adhering to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. Furthermore, the public is urged to reduce mobility and avoid crowds.
