Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Confirmed Positive Cases Nationally (Saturday, July 9, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 63 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.79 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Saturday, July 9, 2022).

The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 53.66 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta, with values of 92.88, 73.65, 54.92, 54.17, and 53.66 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. 43 regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 14 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.

Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Badung, Denpasar City, and Teluk Bintuni, with confirmed positive cases of 26.38, 15.53, and 14.46 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
