The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 68 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 per 100,000 population per week as of Saturday, September 17, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.87 per 100,000 population per week, are Teluk Bintuni (1.45 per 100,000 population per week), Pariaman City (1.08 per 100,000 population per week), Talaud Islands (1.07 per 100,000 population per week), Mentawai Islands (1.01 per 100,000 population per week), and Minahasa (0.87 per 100,000 population per week).
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Four districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death tolls than previously, while four others recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Teluk Bintuni (1.45 per 100,000 population per week), Pariaman City (1.08 per 100,000 population per week), and Talaud Islands (1.07 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
