The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 122 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 1.19 percent as of Friday, March 17, 2023.
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 13.16 percent are Boven Digoel, Banggai Kepulauan, Aceh Barat, Kepulauan Selayar, and Sumba Timur, with values of 50 percent, 50 percent, 16.67 percent, 16.67 percent, and 13.16 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 45 districts/cities, while 24 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Boven Digoel, Banggai Kepulauan, and Aceh Barat, with seven-day positivity rates of 50 percent, 50 percent, and 16.67 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
