The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 82 regencies/cities with COVID-19 hospital inpatient admissions per 100,000 population/week above the national average, currently recorded at 0.91 patients per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, April 14, 2022).
The five top regencies/cities with inpatient admission rates exceeding 3.37 patients per 100,000 population/week are Mahakam Ulu, Central Jakarta, Sorong, Madiun City, and East Sumba, with respective values of 7.46 patients per 100,000 population/week, 5.47 patients per 100,000 population/week, 5.21 patients per 100,000 population/week, 3.93 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 3.37 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient admissions in most regencies/cities outside Java are declining. Nine regencies/cities recorded higher daily inpatient usage than previously, while 47 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient usage.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient admission rates include Mahakam Ulu, Sorong, and East Sumba, with inpatient usage rates of 7.46 patients per 100,000 population/week, 5.21 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 3.37 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
