The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 167 regencies/cities with a seven-day aglomeration positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 3.77 percent (data as of Thursday, December 22, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 34.38 percent are Bener Meriah (50 percent), Boven Digoel (42.86 percent), Balangan (41.07 percent), North Halmahera (39.13 percent), and Sigi (34.38 percent).
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the seven-day positivity rate in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 112 regencies/cities, while 150 regencies/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Bener Meriah (50 percent), Boven Digoel (42.86 percent), and Balangan (41.07 percent).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
