The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force reported that 15 regencies/cities in Indonesia were in the red zone, or had a high level of coronavirus risk, from August 23-29, 2021. This is a decrease of 38 areas compared to the previous week, which had 53 cities/regencies.
The number of regencies/cities in the orange zone also decreased by 49 to 294 areas. The previous week, 343 regencies/cities had a moderate level of coronavirus risk.
Conversely, the number of regencies/cities with a low level of coronavirus risk increased by 87 to 204 areas. The previous week, 117 regencies/cities were in the yellow zone.
Meanwhile, the number of regencies/cities in the green zone (due to having no new cases) remained at one. No regencies/cities in Indonesia were in the green zone due to being unaffected by the coronavirus.
The government urges the public to diligently implement the 3M health protocols to suppress the spread of the coronavirus. These protocols consist of wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
