PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recently inaugurated the Panoramic train on December 24, 2022. This train operates on the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route during the 2023 Christmas and New Year holiday period.
"The Panoramic train is a train with special specifications for enjoying panoramic views, the first of its kind in Indonesia. This train provides an extraordinary sensation for passengers to enjoy the scenery throughout their journey," said KAI VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus in a press release on Friday (23/12/2022).
The Panoramic train is equipped with rotating seats facing the windows, remotely controlled window blinds, automatic sensor toilets, televisions on the end walls of the carriage, and dedicated luggage racks at the end of the carriage.
In addition, passengers receive complimentary snacks, meals, drinks, and blankets.
The Panoramic train carriage is attached to the additional Taksaka train on the Gambir-Yogyakarta route with a capacity of 46 seats.
Based on the KAI Access application, the price of a Panoramic train ticket is Rp1 million per seat. However, KAI is running a promotion with a discounted price of Rp750,000 per seat with limited quota.
The following is the schedule for the additional Taksaka train with the Panoramic carriage operating from December 24, 2022 to January 8, 2023:
* Train 7011C departs from Yogyakarta at 21.40 WIB, arrives at Gambir at 05.33 WIB
* Train 7012C departs from Gambir at 10.40 WIB, arrives at Yogyakarta at 18.39 WIB
* Train 7025B departs from Yogyakarta at 12.00 WIB, arrives at Gambir at 19.30 WIB
* Train 7026B departs from Gambir at 23.45 WIB, arrives at Yogyakarta at 07.50 WIB
KAI stated that in the future, this Panoramic carriage may also be included in various train sets with different routes.
