The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 179 districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 4.51 percent (data as of Friday, August 26, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 30 percent are Kepulauan Mentawai, Barito Selatan, Mahakam Ulu, Kapuas, and Pulang Pisau, with values of 51.35 percent, 35.87 percent, 31.71 percent, 31.32 percent, and 30 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside of Java. 141 districts/cities recorded a higher seven-day positivity rate than the previous day, while 128 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Kepulauan Mentawai, Barito Selatan, and Mahakam Ulu, with seven-day positivity rates of 51.35 percent, 35.87 percent, and 31.71 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
