The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 76 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Minahasa Tenggara (3.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Padang Panjang City (1.77 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tabanan (1.1 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Pangkal Pinang City (0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. However, 10 regencies/cities recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than previously, while 10 others recorded lower numbers.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Minahasa Tenggara (3.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Padang Panjang City (1.77 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
