Weekly per capita expenditure on snails by residents of Pulau Morotai Regency: Rp24,700

Household expenditure on shellfish (clams, snails, slugs, mussels) in Morotai Island Regency in 2023 was Rp24.7 per capita per week. This figure increased compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp3.03 per capita per week.

The five largest components of household expenditure on fish groups in Morotai Island Regency, in descending order, were: skipjack tuna and dencis (Rp5,860.15 per capita per week), yellowtail kingfish (Rp4,008.57 per capita per week), other fresh/wet fish (Rp3,447.92 per capita per week), tuna (Rp3,263.04 per capita per week), and the lowest was preserved wahoo (Rp1.05 per capita per week).

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be grouped into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia), this increase in expenditure was driven by the monthly (month-to-month) inflation rate in this region, which reached 2.48%. Meanwhile, economic growth in 2023 was recorded at 2.48%.

Based on region, the highest household expenditure on shellfish (clams, snails, slugs, mussels) was in Yapen Waropen Regency, and the lowest was in Karangasem Regency. Morotai Island Regency ranked 286th in terms of expenditure on shellfish (clams, snails, slugs, mussels). Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure on shellfish (clams, snails, slugs, mussels) was Rp217 per capita per week.
