The Indonesian government extended the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java and Bali from September 7th to 13th, 2021. However, several regencies/cities in Java and Bali experienced a lowering of their PPKM status due to a decline in Covid-19 cases.
Based on the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 39 of 2021, 128 regencies/cities in Java and Bali implemented PPKM levels 2-4. The majority, or 74 regencies/cities in Java and Bali, implemented PPKM level 3, a decrease from the previous week's 76 regencies/cities.
A total of 43 regencies/cities implemented PPKM level 2, an increase from 27 the previous week.
Meanwhile, 11 regencies/cities still implemented PPKM level 4, a decrease from 25 the previous week.
The following is a detailed list of areas implementing PPKM levels 2-4 in Java and Bali:
PPKM Level 4
1. East Java: Ponorogo Regency and Magetan Regency
2. Bali: Jembrana Regency, Bangli Regency, Karangasem Regency, Badung Regency, Gianyar Regency, Klungkung Regency, Tabanan Regency, Buleleng Regency, and Denpasar City.
PPKM Level 3
1. Jakarta: Kepulauan Seribu Islands Regency, West Jakarta City, East Jakarta City, South Jakarta City, North Jakarta City, and Central Jakarta City.
2. Banten: Tangerang City, Cilegon City, Tangerang Regency, South Tangerang City, and Serang City.
3. West Java: Sukabumi City, Cirebon City, Bogor City, Bekasi City, Bandung City, Tasikmalaya Regency, Tasikmalaya City, Depok City, Cimahi City, Banjar City, Cirebon Regency, Bogor Regency, Bekasi Regency, West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, and Sumedang Regency.
4. Central Java: Wonogiri Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Sragen Regency, Purworejo Regency, Purbalingga Regency, Magelang Regency, Magelang City, Tegal City, Surakarta City, Salatiga City, Klaten Regency, Kebumen Regency, Karanganyar Regency, Cilacap Regency, Banyumas Regency, Brebes Regency, and Boyolali Regency.
5. Yogyakarta: Sleman Regency, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta City, Kulon Progo Regency, and Gunungkidul Regency.
6. East Java: Blitar Regency, Tulungagung Regency, Trenggalek Regency, Situbondo Regency, Sidoarjo Regency, Pacitan Regency, Ngawi Regency, Madiun Regency, Lumajang Regency, Blitar City, Surabaya City, Probolinggo City, Mojokerto City, Malang City, Madiun City, Kediri City, Batu City, Kediri Regency, Jombang Regency, Nganjuk Regency, Mojokerto Regency, Malang Regency, Lamongan Regency, Gresik Regency, and Bangkalan Regency.
PPKM Level 2
1. Banten: Serang Regency, Lebak Regency, and Pandeglang Regency.
2. West Java: Kuningan Regency, Sukabumi Regency, Pangandaran Regency, Purwakarta Regency, Majalengka Regency, Karawang Regency, Indramayu Regency, Ciamis Regency, Cianjur Regency, Subang Regency, and Garut Regency.
3. Central Java: Banjarnegara Regency, Wonosobo Regency, Temanggung Regency, Tegal Regency, Rembang Regency, Pemalang Regency, Pati Regency, Kudus Regency, Semarang City, Pekalongan City, Kendal Regency, Semarang Regency, Pekalongan Regency, Jepara Regency, Grobogan Regency, Blora Regency, Batang Regency, and Demak Regency.
4. East Java: Banyuwangi Regency, Bondowoso Regency, Tuban Regency, Sumenep Regency, Sampang Regency, Probolinggo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Pamekasan Regency, Pasuruan City, Jember Regency, and Bojonegoro Regency.
The government is also considering a gradual adjustment to community activity restrictions. Some of these regulations include:
- Adjusting dining time at restaurants, eateries, and cafes in malls to 60 minutes with a maximum capacity of 50%.
- A trial opening of 20 tourist attractions in cities with PPKM level 3 status, with strict adherence to health protocols and implementation of the PeduliLindungi platform. Regencies/cities with PPKM level 2 status will also be required to use PeduliLindungi at tourist attractions that are allowed to open.
- The government will conduct a trial of health protocols and PeduliLindungi for malls and shopping centers in Bali with certain limitations.
Although several areas have experienced a decrease in PPKM level, the public is continuously urged to diligently implement the 3M health protocols to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. These protocols include wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
