The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 29 districts/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week, as of Thursday, January 12, 2023.
The top five districts/cities with Covid-19 death rates exceeding 0.34 per 100,000 population per week are Kutai Barat (1.32 per 100,000 population per week), Barito Timur (0.77 per 100,000 population per week), Humbang Hasundutan (0.51 per 100,000 population per week), Aceh Selatan (0.4 per 100,000 population per week), and Manggarai Barat (0.34 per 100,000 population per week).
National Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most districts/cities outside Java. Two districts/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while three districts/cities recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Kutai Barat (1.32 per 100,000 population per week), Barito Timur (0.77 per 100,000 population per week), and Humbang Hasundutan (0.51 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
