The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 76 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Saturday, October 1, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.6 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Madiun City, Mentawai Islands, Magelang City, Manado City, and Bintan, with respective rates of 1.68, 1.01, 0.82, 0.69, and 0.6 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the Covid-19 death rate in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Four regencies/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously, while five regencies/cities recorded a lower death rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include the Mentawai Islands, Manado City, and Bintan, with respective death rates of 1.01, 0.69, and 0.6 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
