The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 53 regencies/cities with weekly tracing rates above the national average, currently recorded at 1.1 percent as of Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with tracing rates exceeding 21.59 percent are Semarang City, Surabaya City, Metro City, Jember, and East Jakarta City, with respective values of 27.5 percent, 26.43 percent, 25 percent, 22 percent, and 21.59 percent.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that tracing in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Daily tracing rates higher than previous days were recorded in three regencies/cities, while three others recorded lower tracing rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest tracing rates include Metro City, West Lombok, and Balikpapan City, with tracing rates of 25 percent, 20 percent, and 16.5 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
