The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 87 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 5.32 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, August 11, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 101.49 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Tangerang, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta, with values of 151.17, 148.84, 122.32, 106.64, and 101.49 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A higher than previous daily confirmed positive case count was recorded in 59 districts/cities, while 65 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case counts include Bontang, Banjarmasin, and Palangkaraya cities, with confirmed positive cases of 58.77, 50.31, and 49.02 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
