The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 180 districts/cities with a seven-day aglomeration positivity rate above the national average, currently recorded at 4.49 percent (data as of Sunday, August 28, 2022).
The top five districts/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 30.65 percent are Mentawai Islands, Mahakam Ulu, Tomohon City, Barito Selatan, and Pulang Pisau, with values of 40 percent, 35.9 percent, 35.37 percent, 32.93 percent, and 30.65 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most districts/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 131 districts/cities, while 125 districts/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include the Mentawai Islands, Mahakam Ulu, and Tomohon City, with seven-day positivity rates of 40 percent, 35.9 percent, and 35.37 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
