Indonesia's COVID-19 risk zones continue to improve. The COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported that Indonesia was free from areas with high and moderate coronavirus risk levels from October 18-24, 2021.
For six consecutive weeks, no districts/cities in Indonesia have been classified as red zones. Meanwhile, the number of districts/cities in the orange zone decreased by two compared to the previous week.
There were 504 districts/cities in the yellow zone from October 18-24, 2021. This number remained stagnant compared to the previous week.
The number of districts/cities in the green zone (due to having no new cases) increased by two to ten. Meanwhile, no districts/cities in Indonesia were classified as green zones due to being unaffected by the coronavirus.
Although Indonesia is free from red and orange coronavirus zones, the public must remain vigilant. Several epidemiologists predict a third wave of COVID-19 will hit Indonesia by the end of the year.
Therefore, the government continues to urge the public to diligently implement the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. The public is also urged to avoid crowds and reduce mobility.
