The 2023/24 Indonesian Liga 1 tournament has concluded. Persib Bandung emerged as champions after defeating Madura United with an aggregate score of 6-1.
In the first leg at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, on Sunday (26/5/2024), Persib won convincingly 3-0 against Madura FC, thanks to a goal from Ciro Alves and two goals from David da Silva.
Then, in the second leg, which was also the final match at the Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, East Java, on Friday (31/5/2024), Persib again triumphed 3-1 over Madura United with goals from David da Silva, Marc Klok, and Beckham Putra. Madura United's single goal was scored by Slamet Nurcahyono.
This achievement marks Persib Bandung's eighth league title victory in Indonesian football history.
According to Transfermarkt data, Persib previously won seven league titles in 1936/37, 1960/61, 1985/86, 1989/90, 1993/94, 1994/95, and 2013/14.
Persib is ranked one position below Persija Jakarta as the club with the most league titles in national history.

From 1930-1994, there was the Perserikatan league for amateur clubs, and the Galatama league for semi-professional clubs, established in 1979.
Starting in 1994, PSSI merged both leagues into the Divisi Utama league. Then, from 2008, it was renamed the Liga Super Indonesia.
Since 2017, the top national football competition has been named Liga 1 Indonesia, and this name remains in use today.
