Weekly Expenditure of Gorontalo City Residents on Eggs and Milk

In 2023, per capita weekly expenditure on sweetened condensed milk in Gorontalo City was Rp259.57. This figure is lower than the previous year's Rp268.02 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditure categories for eggs and milk in Gorontalo City, ranked from highest to lowest, are: broiler eggs (Rp2,321.09 per capita per week), powdered milk (Rp1,306.66 per capita per week), infant formula (Rp1,265.83 per capita per week), liquid factory milk (Rp373.02 per capita per week), and duck eggs/Manila duck eggs (Rp6.69 per capita per week – the lowest).

Per capita average expenditure refers to the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into monthly average expenditure. The per capita average consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

According to BPS, this decrease in expenditure is due to the month-to-month inflation rate in the region, which reached 4.52%. Meanwhile, economic growth in 2023 was recorded at 4.52%.

Based on Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) publication, the average per capita expenditure in the city reached Rp1.77 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 6.51% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.66 million per capita per month.

By region, the highest per capita expenditure on sweetened condensed milk was in Puncak Regency, and the lowest was in Karang Asem Regency. Gorontalo City ranked 457th in terms of expenditure on sweetened condensed milk. The national average per capita weekly expenditure on sweetened condensed milk is Rp257.5.
