Active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia were recorded at 4,734 as of Monday, June 13, 2022. This number places Indonesia fifth in Southeast Asia in terms of active coronavirus infections.
Indonesia is ranked between Thailand and the Philippines, which had 22,327 and 2,918 active cases, respectively.
Meanwhile, Vietnam topped the list of countries with the most active Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia, with 1,135,536 active cases. Singapore was second with 79,224 active Covid-19 cases.
Brunei had 2,635 active Covid-19 cases. Myanmar and Timor Leste had 1,585 and 21 active coronavirus infection cases, respectively.
Cambodia reported no active Covid-19 cases on Monday, June 13, 2022. Data on active Covid-19 cases in Laos was unavailable.
The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force recorded an additional 574 Covid-19 cases in the country on June 12, 2022. This number is down from the previous day's 627 cases, which was the highest increase in the last seven weeks.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the increase in cases was due to new variants that have entered Indonesia, namely Omicron BA.4 and BA.5.
