The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 55 regencies/cities with weekly hospital inpatient use above the national average, currently recorded at 1.15 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Wednesday, December 21, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient use, exceeding 4.56 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Central Jakarta, Magelang City, Belitung, Banda Aceh City, and Bandung City, with respective values of 6.02 patients per 100,000 population/week, 5.74 patients per 100,000 population/week, 5.73 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.64 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.56 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient use in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily inpatient use was recorded in 17 regencies/cities, while 30 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient use.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient use include Belitung, Banda Aceh City, and Palu City, with inpatient use of 5.73 patients per 100,000 population/week, 4.64 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 4.44 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
