The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 24 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.01 per 100,000 population per week as of Saturday, April 1, 2023.
The top five regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate exceeding 0.22 per 100,000 population per week are Bontang City, Tarakan City, Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency, Karangasem Regency, and Karanganyar Regency, with respective rates of 0.53, 0.37, 0.29, 0.24, and 0.22 per 100,000 population per week.
National Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. No regencies/cities recorded a higher daily Covid-19 death rate than previously.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Bontang City, Tarakan City, and Pangkajene Kepulauan Regency, with rates of 0.53, 0.37, and 0.29 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
