South Sulawesi's Star-Rated Hotel Occupancy Rate Slightly Increased in August 2021

The occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in South Sulawesi was 28.85% in August 2021. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), this figure increased slightly by 0.17 points from the previous month's 28.68%.

Compared to the same period the previous year, the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in August 2021 decreased by 17.96 points. This was due to the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) since July 2021.

Based on classification, only one-star hotels in South Sulawesi experienced a monthly increase in occupancy rate. Specifically, the occupancy rate of one-star hotels in South Sulawesi increased by 0.14 points from 19.42% in July 2021 to 19.56% in August 2021.

Meanwhile, the occupancy rate of two-star hotels decreased by 2.15 points from 30.90% to 28.75%. The occupancy rate of three-star hotels decreased by 0.7 points from 32.87% to 32.17%.

The occupancy rate of four-star hotels decreased by 9.91 points from 42.51% to 25.74%. The occupancy rate of five-star hotels decreased by 7.01 points from 34.48% to 27.37%.

BPS also recorded that the average length of stay for foreign guests in South Sulawesi was 1.49 days in August 2021. Meanwhile, the average length of stay for domestic guests reached 1.63 days that month.
