Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest National Inpatient Utilization (Sunday, March 19, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 47 regencies/cities with weekly inpatient utilization above the national average, currently recorded at 0.4 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Sunday, March 19, 2023.

The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient utilization, exceeding 1.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Madiun City, Teluk Bintuni, Pangkal Pinang City, Kulon Progo, and Yogyakarta City, with respective values of 1.68 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.42 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.38 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 1.06 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in inpatient utilization in most regencies/cities outside Java. Four regencies/cities recorded higher daily inpatient utilization than previously, while one regency/city recorded lower inpatient utilization.

Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient utilization include Teluk Bintuni, Pangkal Pinang City, and Pontianak City, with inpatient utilization rates of 1.42 patients per 100,000 population/week, 1.38 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 0.89 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
