The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released the results of the 2022 Cost of Living Survey (SBH) on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.
According to the survey, Cilacap has the lowest cost of living nationally.
The 2022 SBH measured the cost of living based on the average monthly household consumption value.
The measurement was conducted on a sample of 240,000 households spread across 150 regencies/cities, recording monthly consumption expenditures for food and non-food commodities.
Households sampled in the 2022 SBH met several criteria, including:
* Having between 2 and 10 household members;
* Having at least one working household member (receiving wages/salary or self-employed); and
* Households that did not plan to move during the enumeration period.
From this survey, the average household cost of living in Cilacap in 2022 was only around Rp5.4 million per month.
