The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded that 217 regencies/cities had a seven-day positivity rate above the national average, which currently stands at 13.57 percent (data as of Saturday, November 19, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with a seven-day positivity rate exceeding 55.56 percent are Gayo Lues, Tidore Islands City, Kepulauan Seribu, Barito Timur, and Sumba Tengah, with values of 77.78 percent, 59.52 percent, 59.05 percent, 56 percent, and 55.56 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the seven-day positivity rate in most regencies/cities outside Java. A daily seven-day positivity rate higher than the previous day was recorded in 162 regencies/cities, while 145 regencies/cities recorded a lower seven-day positivity rate.
Some of the areas outside Java with the highest seven-day positivity rates include Gayo Lues, Tidore Islands City, and Barito Timur, with seven-day positivity rates of 77.78 percent, 59.52 percent, and 56 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
